Broken Poems
A Heart Broken
Words from a heart broken,
Reflections inside carefully spoken.
Tears falling upon her cheek,
Hard to bring the words to speak.
His eyes seeing her pain inside,
Reactions he tries hard to hide.

Hurting her he didn't wish to do,
Although sometimes emotions run true.
A broken heart was before his face,
Tears she cried leaving mascara to trace.
He watched and yet his heart felt her pain,
Sorry for the hurt but yet the truth did remain.
He didn't love her, although he did care,
It was not with her whom life he wished to share.
Words from a heart broken,
Words of pain that had to be spoken.
He couldn't keep lying and leading her on,
There was no love inside for him to lean upon.

So with his hand he touched and wiped her tear,
A whimper in her voice he seemed to hear.
Sorry that he had to hurt her in this way,
But he couldn't pretend to love her another day.
For his love was to another whom he had to see,
And hurting her was not what he had planned it
to be.
A heart broken, and yet a friend so true,
Her broke her heart, something he didn't want
to do.
Words spoken and touching of a hand,
He hoped in time she would understand.
One day he wanted to see her again as his friend,
With care and concern for each to never end.
